The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the application of the new part development process and supporting new business opportunity development within the Vollrath Manufacturing Services (VMS) division.
Responsibilities
Leads and manages VMS projects, and participates in all new part kick-off meetings.
Demonstrates leadership by following, training and mentoring to the NPD Gate process with the project teams.
Acts as a liaison between the customers, Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), and internal engineering, quality, manufacturing and operations teams to ensure tasks and timelines of new part developments meet customer expectations.
Forms strong professional relationships with Vollrath’s manufacturing, engineering and quality groups to promote consistent part development processes across all manufacturing facilities.
Assists with elevating and presenting high potential business opportunities to senior management and team members for review, potential investment, and maximum support to secure new VMS business.
Leads continuous improvement and strategic initiatives to streamline processes and add value to the Vollrath Company.
Qualifications
Assures the work of the Project Team is delivered in compliance to the Gated Process to support on time part submissions, approvals and production launches.
Plan and Communicate with the Project Management Team, RSMs and customers to ensure capture of project requirements and expectations.
Manages the methods of communication and task documentation with engineering, quality and manufacturing, for new part development.
Recommends customer participation or additional internal resources and decision makers as needed.
Identifies, defines and implements process gaps/solutions to maximize an efficient and effective project management process.
Completion of assigned tasks on time and in a quality manner.
Ability to communicate and lead while forming strong working relationships between VMS RSMs, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance
Minimum 3+ yrs.
experience as a Project Manager.
Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Showcase, CRM Dynamics, JDE, PD Trac and the ability to learn current Vollrath systems.
Excellent communication skills.
Good customer presentation skills.
Acumen in selling and marketing.
Self-directed and motivated with the ability to facilitate problem solving within a custom sales solution.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Ability to read and understand part drawings and specifications.
Engineering and Manufacturing background preferred.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year university required.
PMP Certification
