Join us! Process Technician - Oostburg/Plymouth Responsible for supporting the high-speed packaging of cheese for retail and food service applications.
Under direction of the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations and/or VP of Operations, also responsible for optimizing packaging equipment design and controls to achieve key operational objectives including line efficiency and product yield throughout all production lines at both packaging plants.
Establish standard methods of operation that reflect best practices across a broad spectrum of packaging machines, including all production support equipment from cutting to case packing.
Teach and mentor Team Leads and Line Leads in the standard method of operation with the goal of reducing operating costs and improving equipment reliability.
Define and document critical procedures and machine settings to efficiently meet all product specifications.
Demonstrate the ability to safely operate and troubleshoot production equipment at high levels of productivity and quality while communicating with Maintenance staff.
Provide collaborative support to Maintenance, Packaging Technologists, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and other support personnel to identify areas of improvement.
Analyze production data to understand bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
Meet with Production staff from all shifts to understand current state and collaborate on process changes.
Work with Engineering staff to develop new line layouts and define process requirements for new equipment design.
Define equipment settings and controls for new production items as needed.
Perform process audits to verify adherence to center line standards and correct processes as determined by findings.
Be proactive and assist any Line Leads when machine or quality problems arise to minimize unplanned downtime.
Perform additional projects as requested by the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations and Vice President of Operations.
What You Can Offer High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification is a plus.
Proven experience in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment with a high level of mechanical aptitude.
Have exceptional time management and organizational skills to multitask.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
Specific knowledge of production processes and packaging operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
Must exhibit the desire to continuously improve product quality.
Must have the ability to analyze data to make recommendations to management.
Ability to work professionally as a team with all production and supervisory personnel.
Ability to flex work schedule to accommodate needs of all shifts regardless of day or shift with appropriate notice.
Ability to use a PC and iPad.
