Responsibilities:
-Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as milling, drilling, turning, and grinding.
-Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
-Program CNC machines using CAM software or manual programming techniques.
-Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
-Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
-Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
-Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine maintenance on CNC machines.
-Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
-Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve productivity.
-Document work performed, including setup sheets, inspection records, and production reports.
Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in CNC machining preferred.
-Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
-Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
-Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform basic calculations related to machining operations.
-Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
-Familiarity with CAM software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks CAM.
-Ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform accurate dimensional inspections.
-Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
-Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
-Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with multi-axis machining centers and advanced machining techniques.
-Knowledge of CNC maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
-Certification from a recognized CNC machining program or organization.
