We have an opportunity for a Buyer to join our Manitowoc, WI team.
You will ensure there is product at the right time to meet customer demands while meeting delivery, quality, cost, and cash objectives.
You will:
Plans and organizes procurement of products for Manitowoc Mfg, Manitowoc Aftermarket and Manitowoc Indirect purchases.
Works directly with suppliers to develop and maintain strong positive relationships.
Works closely with Material Planning Managers to understand inventory needs and schedules.
Participates in product moves across facilities as needed, managing the changes in order processing and sourcing.
Interprets inventory requests, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders, and other document to coordinate purchasing activities in view of current and anticipated demand for goods and materials.
Monitors the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplier, follows up with the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery, and communicate status of orders with internal customers.
Resolves invoicing exceptions with suppliers and Accounts Payable Department
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
2+ years of experience in a buying role
ERP experience required
Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
Technical skills in Lean Manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, Process Improvement, freight and distribution, materials management, and production scheduling
Strong customer orientation
