Perform all operations in accordance with the specified guidelines and instructions, while exercising safety for oneself and others.
Understand, properly set up and proficiently operate a variety of welding equipment e.
g.
Oxy-Acetylene gas, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, Plasma, power tools, shop equipment, etc.
Working knowledge of welding symbols with the ability to weld to the specifications defined by those symbols.
Weld to proper dimensions and to meet general test requirements.
Work from drawings, job layouts, and sketches.
Fit, position, and weld a variety of items e.
g.
frames, bases, hoppers, covers, hoods, pipes, production service equipment and machinery, etc.
Chip and grind welds as required.
Perform a variety of duties requiring a cutting torch.
Proficiently operate welding equipment as stated in item #3 plus all shop equipment and portable power tools necessary to prepare and final finish assigned task.
Safely and effectively operate all shop fabrication equipment.
Understand different types of steel and various preheat requirements.
Be capable of using Computerized Maintenance Management software to create work notifications, look-up and order parts, print work orders, and enter time confirmations.
