Our core business is a traditional line of aluminum and vinyl extruded floor transitional moldings that aid in a spectrum of installation challenges.

These growing product lines continue to complement our core line of trims for carpet, ceramic, laminate, vinyl, resilient and hardwood floors.
Potential Territory: North Central: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Illinois The Role: We are seeking an organized, energetic, and results-driven regional sales representative to join our professional sales team.
Candidate must possess and demonstrate an excellent record in new business sales development, demonstrable experience in phone, video, and in person presentations, excel in maintaining client relationships, and have a true passion for sharing the benefits our products and services offer.
Experience with a CRM system like Salesforce is a plus.
The successful candidate is expected to travel throughout the territory as well as a home office to maintain existing customer relationships as well as seek out new opportunities.
Travel will be extensive as the position will require a proactive sales approach to existing and new business development.
The Regional Sales Representative (RSR) must be able to completely understand all products to an in-depth, technical level and be able to communicate information to installers, distributors, contractors, builders quickly and efficiently.
Must have good computer skills.
A sound knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Salesforce is essential.
While a good understanding and knowledge of installation processes and product specification is a distinct advantage it is not pre-requisite as product training will be provided to the right candidate.
The RSR will be responsible for maintaining and developing existing business relationships as well as proactively seeking out new business opportunities in current and adjacent sales channels using digital/social media/video conferencing platforms/tools as well as agreed sales strategies with the VP of Sales.
Responsibilities: Including by not limited to: Reach or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Cultivate and develop existing customer relationships to maintain and increase sales in the territory.
Research, identify, develop, and close new opportunities to increase sales within territory.
Continually monitor and track regional sales performance.
Provide weekly reports on sales activity plus new customer acquisition.
Analyze and report on monthly sales outcomes.
Strategically forecast and manage budgetary information.
Be informed on relevant markets and coinciding target audiences.
Ensure customer issues are attended to appropriately and efficiently.
Attend cross-functional meetings where necessary that will benefit the sales department.
Collaborate with existing local distributors to ensure proper inventory and deliveries.
Interact directly with customers to educate them on our products and answer questions.
Build and maintain positive client and customer relationships.
Proactively communicate with all customers in region to ensure that we are providing the type of service they prefer/expect to have.
All customers have different expectations for the type of service they want, and it is the representative’s responsibility to be sure they understand that and are communicating accordingly.
The candidate must have the ability to manage travel cost within your expense budget.
Create and implement an efficient and effective sales plan for growth within your sales territory.
Qualify and disqualify potential customers based on defined parameters for business potential.
Consult with Sales Management on large volume low margin sales opportunities before making a commitment to the customer, especially where the commitment could require a significant investment in inventory.
Recognize opportunities for new products or redesigns of existing products to better fit our market.
Important Skills & Traits: Min 5 years in a similar style role Well-spoken, strong communicator with a proven understanding of sales development Exceptional and professional phone, video, and social media communication etiquette.
Knowledge of video conferencing platforms and digital presentations a distinct advantage such as MS Team, Zoom, GoToMeeting, WebEx etc.
Experience in the use of Computer/Software platforms such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Salesforce or similar CRM.
Familiarity with team collaboration software such as MS Teams or equivalent.
Basic mathematical calculations and formulas.
Self-driven and self-motivated with a strong “Can-do” approach.
Responsible and goal oriented, used to working under pressure and meeting plus exceeding established goals.
Team player Excellent organizational skills with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of the flooring industry is valuable but not a pre-requisite as training will be provided to the right candidate.
Accountability: Position reports directly to the VP of Sales Achieving or exceed agreed upon sales and margins targets.
Report all travel and business expenses consistent with company policy and in a timely manner.
Act in accordance with the company’s mission and values in all dealings with customers and co-workers alike.
Working diligently in your territory throughout the full course of each regular weekday.
Follow all company defined rules, policies, and procedures throughout your employment with M-D Building Products and MD Pro.
Conduct yourself in an ethical and honest manor at all times.
Qualifications: Have strong organizational, communication and presentation skills (both oral, written).
Be goal oriented and have a superior work ethic.
Possess a strong sense of integrity & a desire to earn business through mutually beneficial relationships.
Own a burning desire to find new business.
The person must have the ability to adapt and change to different situations.
Possess basic computer literacy (Outlook, Office, Internet, etc.
) and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software like “Salesforce”.
Have at least five years’ experience in outside sales.
Other: Candidate preferably to reside within the described territory.
Valid driver’s license and a reliable car.
A competitive salary will be offered supplemented with a performance related bonus program.
