Opportunity
The Legal Director will support and enhance the legal functions of our organization.
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Legal Director will provide strategic guidance, oversight, and legal expertise across a wide range of areas, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, managing litigation, and mitigating legal risks.
Specific Responsibilities
Collaborates with the General Counsel in setting the company's legal strategy and objectives.
Monitors and assesses the legal and regulatory landscape affecting the company's operations globally.
Develops, implements, and enforces corporate policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure legal compliance.
Identifies potential legal risks and provides proactive advice and solutions to mitigate them.
Oversees contract negotiation, drafting, and management, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and other corporate agreements.
Ensures that contracts align with the company's strategic goals and legal requirements.
Manages and oversees all litigation matters, including assessing litigation risk, selecting, and working with outside counsel, and representing the company's interests in legal proceedings.
Provides guidance on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, to protect the company's valuable assets.
Ensures compliance with corporate governance requirements and provides support for leadership meetings and related matters.
Participates in due diligence activities and negotiations for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, providing critical legal expertise in these transactions.
Engages with government bodies and regulators to advocate for the company's interests and remains informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations.
Skills/Requirements
A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required.
Must be admitted to the bar (or equivalent) and in good standing in the jurisdiction of practice.
7+ years of legal experience, with a significant portion within a corporate legal department or reputable law firm.
Proven track record in handling complex legal matters, compliance, and risk management.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
The salary range for this position is $182,150 - $239,050.
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
