Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing design services for converting equipment components and systems, facilitating their manufacture, assembly, and commissioning.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide support for project-based technology assignments, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Participate in value-based continuous improvement initiatives to enhance converting machinery technology, designs, and processes.
Accurately and consistently apply engineering and manufacturing standards to all design tasks.
Professionally present JOA technology or project updates to key stakeholders, including clients and internal teams.
Actively participate in project planning and review meetings to define action plans, resource plans, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
Provide hands-on problem-solving during commissioning at JOA and customer sites, ensuring smooth implementation and operation.
Collaborate with team members to proactively develop personal knowledge, skills, and abilities towards key JOA competencies.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline; or equivalent academic and practical experience.
Strong analytic skills to troubleshoot equipment/processes and implement effective solutions.
Ability to effectively utilize complex software for design, problem-solving, and documentation purposes.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Job Physical Requirements:
Ability to work a full day on a computer.
Ability to lift and move objects up to twenty-five pounds in weight.
Ability to use hand tools and monitoring/testing equipment.
Ability to occasionally climb a ladder and maneuver into tight spaces.
Ability to work area in an environment that is loud and without air conditioning during machine commissioning and/or problem-solving.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (safety shoes, glasses, ear protection).
Must travel for company business up to (~20%) international and domestic travel.
