The Division of Adult Institutions is currently recruiting for an Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Special Education Teacher vacancy.
This position is located at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth, WI.

Responsibilities also include management of evaluations (initial and three-year), coordinating diagnostic testing, development of the students’ Individual Education Program (IEPs), progress monitoring, assessment of evidence-based practices and materials, maintenance of confidential records, and transition planning.
Salary Information Starting salary for this position is between $24.
97and $30.
59 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
Candidates may receive supplemental pay for additional credits relevant to the position that are over & above the credits needed for certification.
Pay upon appointment for current or former State employees may vary and will be in accordance with language in the Compensation Plan, Statutes, and Administrative Code.
This position is in pay schedule/range 13-04.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens.
Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.
Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment.
Qualifications Applicants must meet criteria determined by the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) in Adult Basic Education (ABE).
Applicants must meet one of the five areas listed below: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Elementary Education, or Bachelor's Degree or higher in Secondary Education in the area of Reading, English, Math Science or Social Studies, or Bachelor's Degree or higher in Special Education, or Bachelor's Degree or higher with a minor in any one of the following areas (Math, Reading, English, Science, or Social Studies), or Bachelor's Degree or higher with 15 combined semester credits in Math, Reading, English, Science or Social Studies.
AND Applicants must possess, or be eligible for, a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license in Special Education for grades 9 through 12 (Learning Disabilities; Cognitive Disability; Emotional Behavior Disability; or Cross-Categorical Special Education).
Special Note: At the point of hire, the candidate must share evidence of having met (or contract to meet) Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) competencies, Instructors not meeting Educational Degree and FQAS requirements: Must be willing to obtain an Associate Degree from an accredited program.
Progress toward an Associate Degree will be measured through the successful completion of a minimum of six (6) credits of coursework annually, beginning with the second year of employment.
