Annually, we provide a loving environment to 4,700 animals who need us!
While working with animals provides for many "feel good" moments, there's also a lot to do and accomplish every day! The Community Engagement Coordinator is a vital role in daily operations.

This role will have responsibilities in many areas across the Shelter; some will be day-to-day and some will be strategic.
Some duties will include volunteer coordination/management, some will will include reporting, some will be community based- but all will be important!

*For Volunteer Coordination: *
* Recruit, onboard and train volunteers
* Communicate with them consistently- including conflict resolutions, meetings and a newsletter
* Prepare them to lead community and fundraising events
* Facilitate animal integrations
*For Administrative Work:*
* Create an annual strategy for volunteer engagement
* Publicize and maintain volunteer postings with Volunteer Center of Sheboygan County, local schools and universities
* Prepare and distribute calendar of volunteer job assignments
* Produce periodic reports
* Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Volunteer Training, application, and necessities
* Conduct background checks and reference checks on volunteers and student interns
*For Community Engagement: *
* Create an annual strategy for community engagement
* Coordinate tours, information sessions, and virtual meetings for groups
* Cultivate relationships across diverse communities to provide new opportunities for young people to engage with HSSC
* Provide ongoing input, information, and materials (as requested) that support internal and external communication efforts about programming and opportunities
* Organize group service projects

*Are There Educational Requirements? *
Yes- a Bachelor's degree is preferred! Business management, Nonprofit management, etc.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,500.
