Assists the Register in Probate in performing the statutory duties of the office.
Opens, manages, and closes all files.
This includes but is not limited to: entering filed documents into CCAP, preparation and maintenance of checklists, and preparation of required notices and legal documents.
Closes files and destroys files upon completion of retention period.
Provides information and assistance to persons contacting the Register in Probate Office.
Screens calls and visitors to avoid ex parte contact with Court Commissioner.
Assists genealogy researchers.
Provides information and general assistance relative to the requirements of filing correct case documents and other required forms.
Monitors the completion of required annual reviews of protective placements.
Ensures that required reviews of orders for protective services are completed.
Schedules hearings, and appoints Guardian Ad Litem.
Prepares all necessary documents for hearings.
Performs required administrative tasks after hearing.
A high school diploma and whatever combination of additional education and work experience provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
