What You Do.
Knowledge of accounting and finance principles including ability to perform balance sheet, profitability, cash flow, and capital structure analysis Advanced Excel, modeling, and financial valuation skills Enhance and utilize data & analytics (D&A) tools to provide insights to business performance Gain familiarity in sales and use, property, and income taxes, and gain experience with tax filings Apply standard cost and variance reporting in a manufacturing environment Analyze and understand plant operating costs and recommend actions to improve results.
Identify key data sources and apply accounting principles to identify trends and meaningful insights.
Demonstrate general understanding of the basics of balance sheets, income statements, cash flows and how they relate to shareholder return Familiarity in use of common financial tools (ROI, NPV, IRR, etc.
) Familiarity with basic accounting principles across various disciplines within accounting (GAAP).
Analyze financial data and processes to provide insights and recommendations on improving results Critical thinking and inquisitive mind Understanding the “big picture” and underlying strategic issues Developing and implementing solutions to complex problems Bringing fresh perspective to challenges and ability to effectively communicate advantages to such perspectives/ideas External benchmarking with regard to performance standards, best practices Ability to structure presentations in a straightforward and efficient manner Effective business writer, able to provide short synopsis and recommendations Relevant and opportune projects, as assigned.
Your Education and Experience.
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field having completed junior year by May 2024.
